Throughout Ken's 30+- year career in financial services, he has strived to maintain personal integrity, honesty and caring for his clients. He works to provide state of the art planning solutions and portfolios, and has developed a trust with each of his clients. With this approach, Ken has not only created longtime professional relationships, but personal friendships as well.
The first decade of Ken's financial career were spent with The Hartford Insurance Group, five of those years as Michigan Regional Director of Sales. In 1985, he joined Cigna Financial Advisors, which later merged into Sagemark Consulting and Lincoln Financial Advisors. He was twice named “Planner of the Year” for their Michigan regional office. In 2005, Ken was a founding partner of The Capstone Group, LLC – a private wealth management firm. In June of 2009, Ken and two partners joined their practice with The Advanced Strategies Group.
Ken's practice consists of working with business owners, professionals and retirees in the areas of wealth accumulation and preservation, business continuity and executive benefits. His services make extensive use of financial modeling and forecasting tools in exploring solutions for his clients. He has worked extensively as a consultant with several national stock brokerage firms and regional property-casualty agencies for the benefit of their clients. He has also done consulting and seminars for a number of legal and accounting firms, as well as charitable organizations.
He lives in Clarkston with his wife, Sally. They have two grown sons. Ken and Sally are both graduates of the University of Michigan where he is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association and a member of the President and Victors Clubs. Ken and his family share a love of the University of Michigan, its athletic teams and marching band.
Ken has been a youth baseball coach, scout den leader, active in the PTA, Band Boosters and his church where he has served on Parish Council, hospitality and takes an active role in other areas of the worship service.
While Ken values the freedom and financial security of his profession, his goal is to make a difference in the lives of others each day.
