Truman D. Timmis

Truman is a Senior Vice President of the Advanced Strategies Group, a firm specializing in advanced estate planning, wealth preservation and transfer for affluent families, highly compensated executives and professionals and the owners of closely held businesses.

Truman brings to the Advanced Strategies Group a wealth of business and legal experience gained over a twenty six year career in real estate development, brokerage, consulting and the practice of law. Immediately prior to joining the Advanced Strategies Group, Truman operated Timmis Group, Ltd., a commercial real estate brokerage, consulting and development company he founded in 1992. Prior to forming Timmis Group, Truman worked in commercial real estate development and investment as a member of Kirco Development Interests, Hall Financial Group and Lautrec, Ltd. Truman began his career as in-house legal counsel to Talon, Inc., a diversified investment company with interests in retail, manufacturing, real estate and oil & gas. Through these experiences, Truman gained extensive legal, financial, analytical and negotiation skills; coupled with a strong focus in client needs analysis, project management and problem solving.

Active in his community, Truman has served on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit for the past 16 years; five of those years as Chairman. He is also a graduate of Leadership Detroit, and is a past member of the Executive Board of the Wayne State University Law School Alumni Association.

Truman earned his Juris Doctor from the Wayne State University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Michigan State University. His professional memberships include the State Bar of Michigan and Oakland Business Advisors.
